BWP Long Island Club
Over the course of the past 24 years of operation and last year in Florida, the Club has developed programming for youth of both genders, ages 5-19 years old. This programming is fluid and ever-changing, allowing the Club to meet the demands of the modern game of soccer. Through technical review by our Club’s technical leadership team, ongoing professional development and daily experience in the soccer landscape, the entirety of the technical staff is constantly evaluating and re-evaluating the Club’s best practices to enhance the overall training and playing experiences instilling a passion for our game, soccer.
2020 has presented unprecedented challenges, but also opportunities for the Club to grow. BWP Long Island was just that an opportunity that was presented to the Club to bring together several Long Island-based youth clubs under one umbrella with a priority and objective to install a professional learning community (PLC) for its technical staff. Hiring national educator Tim Bradbury as the Club's Technical Director to oversee and lead this effort is evidence of the Club's priority. Prior to launching, the Club's technical staff has already engaged in over 10 hours of staff development through classroom and field sessions. Learning and engaging our players' thinking through the process will be cornerstones of the long-term development plan for our players. The Club will prioritize delayed gratification and personal agency as key objectives in all Club training sessions and matches.
