Albany, NY – BWP Football Academy is excited to announce its Academy & Pre-Academy Technical Training Center, taking place August 10–13, for U11 through U14 boys and girls as players prepare for the start of the 2026/27 season.
The four-day Technical Training Center is designed to help players sharpen their technical ability, improve decision-making, and build confidence on the ball before the opening weeks of league competition. The program is open to both Academy and Pre-Academy players and provides an intensive, high-energy environment focused on individual player development.
Each session will emphasize the technical foundation required to compete at the highest levels of youth football while reinforcing BWP Football Academy’s player development philosophy.
Training topics will include:
- First touch and ball mastery
- Passing and receiving under pressure
- 1v1 attacking and defending
- Turning and finishing
- Speed of play and decision-making
- Small-sided games and possession activities
- Position-specific technical development
“Our Technical Training Center is designed to help players hit the ground running before the season begins,” said Academy Director Steve Freeman. “The days leading into preseason are incredibly valuable, and this program gives players the opportunity to refine their technique, increase their confidence, and prepare to compete from day one. Every session is built around maximizing repetitions, improving quality on the ball, and challenging players to think and play faster.”
The Technical Training Center also serves as an opportunity for players from the Academy and Pre-Academy pathways to train together while experiencing the high standards and expectations that define BWP Football Academy.
With enrollment increasing for the fifth consecutive year and the Academy expanding its player pathways, including the addition of new girls’ and boys’ age-group catchments, the Technical Training Center represents another step in BWP Football Academy’s commitment to providing year-round opportunities for player growth and development.
Players can expect a challenging but enjoyable environment where attention to detail, work ethic, and creativity are encouraged every day.
