BWP FA Youth Teams Shine — U18/19s (2006/07) Finish League Unbeaten

It was a weekend to remember for BWP Football Academy, as all three of their top youth squads delivered strong performances to close out or continue their EDP North Atlantic League 2025 campaigns with momentum. 

  BWP FA U18/19s – 2006/07s  Crowned EDP North Atlantic  League Champions —  Unbeaten Run Secures First Place 

The BWP FA U18/19s – 2006/07s  capped off a successful league season in style, securing first place  in the EDP North Atlantic League on the final match day with a come from behind 4-2 win versus LaGrange SC U19s. With a hard-fought result, the BWP FA 

U18/19s – 2006/07s completed the campaign unbeaten, showcasing consistency, resilience, and tactical maturity across the season running a 6-0-2, 20 points. Clinching the title in dramatic fashion on the last day added to the squad’s achievement, underlining their ability to perform under pressure and deliver results when it matters most. The coaching staff credited the players’ discipline and chemistry for their exceptional run. “This group showed determination and resilience all season long. To finish unbeaten in league play is a testament to their work ethic and growth,” said Head Coach Steve Freeman.

BWP FA U15/16s – 2009/10s Dominate Final Regular Season Match with 6-0 Road Victory 

Elsewhere, the BWP U15/16s – 2009/10s wrapped up their regular season in emphatic fashion with a commanding 6-0 win on the road. From the opening whistle, the group jumped on the game, putting their opponents on the back foot and never letting up. The clean sheet also highlights the backline’s organization and the goalkeeper’s solid performance. The result reflects the team’s progress throughout the year coupled with their overall league play finishing second with a 6-2-0, 18 points and the highest GD of +19. 

“We asked the boys to bring intensity and focus—and they delivered. It was a complete performance,” said Technical Staff Coach FJ Zwicklbauer. 

BWP U13/14s – 2011/12s Battle to 1-1 Draw with Manhattan SC Marseille U14s in the Bronx 

The BWP U13/14s – 2011/12s showed their grit in a competitive 1-1 draw against Manhattan SC Marseille U14s in the Bronx. Despite being on the younger side of many of their opponents, the BWP FA squad held their own, displaying strong positional play and technical sharpness. The match was a back-and-forth affair with both sides creating chances. BWP FA U13/14s – 2011/12s fell behind before halftime, but the group responded on an impressive dispossession in their half into a counter attack leading a great sequence between the two 9’s leading to the finish off service from the right flank. The second half remained tight, with both teams pushing for a winner but ultimately ending in a draw. “This was a great test for our boys against a physically strong opponent. We’re proud of how they competed, stayed disciplined and came back into the match on an absolutely great goal,” said Head Coach Steve Freeman. 

 

A Strong Weekend Across All Age Groups

With two league titles secured in 2024/25, a runner up, and promising signs of development in our youngest group, BWP Football Academy continues to develop talent across all levels. The weekend’s results reflect the club’s commitment to excellence, growth, and competitive spirit. 

Up next, the squads prepare for their final event in mid-July with the NYC Cup. BWP FA ECNL RL Trials begin tomorrow. See below link for registration details. BWP FA will be offering programming with the Pre-Academy U10/11/12s – 2014/15/16s, Academy U13s, U14s, U15s, U16s, U17s and U18/19s which will compete in the ECNL RL.
