BWP Football Academy Girls U15/16s Compete at PA Classics Girls Showcase

Lancaster, PA – BWP Football Academy’s Girls U15/16 – 2010/11s competed at the PA Classics Girls Showcase on December 13–14 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, facing strong regional opposition across two scheduled matches.

The weekend opened with a disciplined defensive performance as BWP FA Girls U15/16 – 2010/11s earned a 0–0 draw against Match Fit Academy Surf (NJ), demonstrating organization, resilience, and collective commitment throughout the match. “We are extremely proud of the girls’ efforts,” stated Academy Director Steve Freeman. “They worked very hard to make improvements defensively, denying the middle of the pitch and protecting the space behind.”

In their second fixture, BWP FA fell to Capital Area Soccer Academy of Harrisburg, PA, in a hard-fought contest that provided valuable learning moments against a well-structured opponent. “We played our best half of football this Fall in the first half. Granted we didn’t capitalize and change the scoreline, but the group demonstrated their greatest command of the ball and territory yet,” stated Freeman.

A third scheduled match on Sunday was canceled due to inclement weather, bringing the showcase weekend to an early conclusion.

The experience provided the group with another important opportunity to compete in a demanding showcase environment while continuing their long-term development against quality opposition. “We are excited about this group’s future. They have been wonderful to work with, and turn up three nights a week to train in an effort to improve as players.” Stay tuned for more information about the BWP FA Girls program and its expansion in 2026/27.
