November 26, 2025 – The BWP Football Academy’s 2025 Alumni 4v4 Tournament brought energy, competition, and community spirit to the CBA Dome as more than 100 participants turned out to take part in one of the club’s signature annual events. Players competed across three divisions—U16, U19, and Open—showcasing fast-paced play and strong camaraderie in the small-sided format. “This night continues to be one of my favorite moments of the year,” said Academy Director and Head Coach Steve Freeman. “There aren’t many youth soccer clubs in our country who have events like this, and try to stay connected to their former players and families. I am grateful and privileged to have been fortunate to work so many wonderful young people, now adults over the past 30 years.”

A highlight of the evening was the return of 19 former BWP Football Academy players, whose presence underscored the lasting connections formed through the club. Their involvement added to the celebratory atmosphere, reinforcing the academy’s commitment to developing not only athletes but a lifelong community of players and supporters. The tournament also served as a platform to recognize and support the BWPFA Access Player Program, an initiative dedicated to expanding opportunities for players who require financial assistance to access the elite youth soccer national platform. Proceeds from the event contributed directly to the program, helping ensure broader access to elite training and competition. BWPFA Access Player Program – contributions are greatly appreciated.
This year saw a return of girls to our event as the Club has relaunched its girls programming with a U15/16 Girls category. Historically the Club has had over 120 plus girls graduate the Club and compete in college. “Seeing our U15/16 girls competing and enjoying the event brought another layer of energy and enthusiasm. It is amazing to feel their genuine excitement, and look forward to continuing to build out our girls programming,” stated Freeman. The combination of alumni engagement, competitive spirit, and meaningful fundraising made the 2025 edition one of the academy’s most successful yet—reflecting BWP Football Academy’s ongoing mission to provide pathways, opportunities, and a strong soccer culture for players of all backgrounds.
