June 17, 2025 – Albany, NY — BWP Football Academy is proud to announce the official relaunch of its Girls Academy programming, beginning with the introduction of the U16s – 2010s age category. This marks an exciting new chapter for the Academy as it renews its commitment to developing elite female soccer talent.
The relaunch comes as part of BWP’s ongoing efforts to provide high-quality training and competitive opportunities for young athletes. The BWP FA Girls Academy program will feature a holistic player development model, combining technical training, tactical education, fitness development, and character building, all within a positive and empowering environment. Last night, a closed training session was offered and led by Steve Freeman at CBA Albany on the stadium turf. “Is it always this kind of training…wow!” said one of the attending player’s parents.
Why U16s – 2010s?
This age group represents a pivotal stage in player development, where athletes begin to bridge the gap between grassroots and elite levels of play in youth soccer. BWP FA’s coaching staff, composed of licensed and experienced professionals, will focus on preparing these players through principles of play for high-performance environments, including collegiate programs, college recruitment, and beyond.
BWP FA Trials & Registration
Trials for the BWP FA U16s – 2010s Girls Academy team will continue through the end of the month. For additional dates and registration details to be announced shortly on BWP’s official website and social media channels. “Last night’s closed session was great. Working with players who truly want to improve and are receptive to coaching are cornerstones of building a great working environment,” said Head Coach Steve Freeman.
