United Soccer Group x BWP Football Academy

3-Year Strategic Agreement

Albany, NY & Pittsfield, MA – United Soccer Group and BWP Football Academy ink a 3-year strategic agreement that creates expanded competitive pathways for boys and girls while strengthening player development throughout the Capital Region and creates access for players in Western Mass. BWP Football Academy and United Soccer Group proudly announce a comprehensive three-year strategic agreement designed to provide greater opportunities and access for aspiring youth soccer players while significantly expanding the development landscape for youth soccer throughout the Capital Region and Western Mass. The agreement brings together two organizations committed to excellence in player development, creating a clear pathway for athletes to compete at multiple elite platforms while remaining in a player-centered environment.

Expanded Competitive Opportunities

Beginning with the 2026-27 season, the partnership will provide qualified players with opportunities to compete across both the Elite Clubs National League Regional League (ECNL RL) and the Elite Academy (EA) platforms. This dual-platform model ensures players are placed in the environment best suited to their individual stage of development, providing meaningful competition and enhanced exposure opportunities.

By aligning resources and technical expertise, the organizations will offer flexible pathways that prioritize long-term player development over short-term results.

Building a Premier Girls Program

A cornerstone of the strategic agreement is the continued investment in developing one of the region’s most comprehensive girls’ soccer programs.

Over the next three years, United Soccer Group and BWP Football Academy will collaborate to:

  • Expand opportunities for girls from the youngest academy ages through the U19 level
  • Increase access to high-level league competition and showcase events
  • Develop an integrated player pathway from grassroots participation to college recruitment
  • Strengthen coaching education and technical standards throughout the girls’ program
  • Enhance goalkeeper development, performance training, and player support services
  • Create an environment that attracts and retains the area’s top female players while developing future leaders both on and off the field

The long-term vision is to establish a sustainable girls’ program recognized throughout the Northeast for its player development philosophy, competitive success, and commitment to developing complete student-athletes.

Shared Football Philosophy

The agreement is built upon a shared commitment to developing intelligent, technically proficient, and confident footballers through a player-first approach.

Both organizations believe in:

  • Individual player development as the highest priority.
  • Age-appropriate technical and tactical education.
  • High-performance training environments.
  • Character development and leadership.
  • Providing multiple pathways for every player to maximize their potential.

By combining resources, coaching expertise, and competitive platforms, the agreement creates a stronger overall experience for players and families while positioning the organizations for continued growth.

Looking Ahead

This three-year agreement represents more than a partnership—it is a shared commitment to raising the standard of youth soccer throughout the Capital Region and Western Mass. As the collaboration evolves, additional programming, technical initiatives, talent identification opportunities, camps, showcases, and player development experiences will continue to be introduced, ensuring players have access to some of the best developmental opportunities available in the region.

United Soccer Group and BWP Football Academy look forward to working together to build a sustainable model of excellence that benefits players, families, coaches, and the broader soccer community for years to come.
